Peter earned his MD degree at the University of Washington and completed his residency at the University of California San Francisco Natividad Medical Center in Internal Medicine.  His primary research interests include: Noise induced hearing loss, heavy metal toxicity, PCB toxicity, occupational health issues of disadvantaged populations, and animals as sentinels of human environmental health hazards.

Sharon Richman Kirsche, MPH

Sharon completed her undergraduate education at The George Washington University, where she graduated with a BS in Biology. After graduation, she served for a year in AmeriCorps Cape Cod, and then worked in Boston as a research assistant at the Harvard School of Public Health. She recently completed her Master of Public Health Degree (MPH) at Yale University in Environmental Health Sciences. While completing this degree Sharon spent a year interning for the Global Health and Safety Leader at General Electric's headquarters in Fairfield, CT.

YOEMP was founded in 1979 by its current director, Mark R. Cullen. Its current mission is threefold:

  • Provide the highest quality clinical services to patients and clients

  • Provide unparalleled subspecialty training for physicians in Occupational and Environmental Medicine
  • Conduct clinical, epidemiological and laboratory research

National Institute for Occupational  Safety & Health  (NIOSH)
